Option Brokerage
Folks, this is to let you know that Option Brokerage is not cast in concrete.
My broker Religare is now charging 1% of gross premium or Rs. 75 per lot minimum. That is to say, if your Nifty option premium is at or below Rs. 150, you still get charged Rs. 75 (150x50=7500x1%=75); but if it is say Rs. 200, your charge is 1% = Rs. 100(200x50=10000x1%=100). The same applies to other stock options as well. If your trading turnover is more, Religare charges lower minimum brokerage. This is still higher than trading in equities, but I don't know why that is so.
I invite readers to publish the charges of their brokers so we can bargain better with ours to reduce these charges.
