Sah Petroleums- A Multibagger

Sah Petroleums is a leading manufacturer of industrial lubricants in India and manufactures a wide range of industrial and automotive lubricants, specialities, process oils, etc. and the share was listed in September 2004 at a price of Rs.35.

In spite of its decent performance (it had a turnover of Rs. 1796 millions and an EPS of Rs.3.5 for FY 07) and the strong demand for lubricants in India’s growing economy, the share is surprisingly now quoting at Rs.17 which is much below its issue price of Rs.35 three years back.


The company has shown a strong growth in EPS of Rs.2.13 for the first half of FY ’08 which is 82% higher than the corresponding EPS of Rs.1.17 for FY ’07.

The company has also substantially increased its capacity last year.

Going by its performance and potential and the strong demand for petroleum stocks, the share seems to be grossly underpriced and deserves a much higher valuation.
