Trading the nifty index

I would like to know if there are any traders in this forum who trade nifty index - specifically , say you have decided the market direction ( using TA/FA/astro/whatever ) taking positions in the futures requires one to take the risk of overnight newsflow and gap opens which result in stoplosses getting triggered .If you decide to limit such risks by trading in options, one finds that with volatility quite high the option premium tend to be too large and unrealistic. The question is if one is able to judge the market direction correctly - how best to translate that knowledge into trading profits ?
