bailout.

The Big bailout,is it really going to happen? The US congress is trying to get something done but to what extent will the steps really help? The markets are also in a wait & watch mode with nothing really hapenning & things just being range bound.Read somewhere that the FII flow may slow down still further.

medicine and disease

Date 09/26/08 time 8.27 am

Hi Panco,
What u have raised is a very valid question which hounds all sane heads as i write this. What i personally feel is that this problem in the US is not seven years, but a full 25 years in the making, and hence $700 billion will not be enough, its peanuts compared tothe enormity of the problem. This medicine is just the very reason that the US economy suffers and a further dose of it, in wishful thinking, is not going to make the problem go away. If not like a ostrich which will bury its head in hte face of danger, wishfully thinking that the threat will go away, the recent action of the US administration shows that they r like that street dog i encounter everyday when i walk my caeser ( labrador), they growl as if they will kill both me and caeser, but one look by caeser in their eye and the next second they r not to be seen.
The US economy is in grave danger of losing its hegemonistic position in the financial world, maybe these words sound philosophic, but i forsee a multipolar world in the financial world soon taking birth.

Hi Punnu,
good advice, truly praiseworthy, but honestly wonder how many people came online yesterday to read it. The fear element was there at the stat and in the first two hours. Whatever had to be bought had to be bought then, after that what happened was a clear cut case of a bear market rally.
Moreover let us not forget that even if this bailout package is passed, the repurcussions of this violent medicine will be the hot bed of discussion and intellectual prognosis for times to come. I give my verdict, it is a failure, prices tell me ICICI BANK and the like of them r doomed, why they r that way is for the intellectuals to determine, for me prices r okay they commincate everything. This crisis is one which will wipe out old institutions and we will see the birth of new ones.
HDFC BANK, is a stock which i have a high regard for. I havent seen any stock communicating to me from the financial sector like it does. Hats of to them. They may not be the best people to bank with, with their plethora of rules ( i myelf hate the bank staff at my branch), but when it comes to financial health, it would be good if top management of icicibank took some lessons on a personal level from them.
